Benjamin Walbrodt was born in 1972 in Berlin and received his first cello lessons when he was five years old. He went on to study violoncello as a main subject in Dresden and St. Petersburg. Upon graduation, Benjamin performed in the symphony orchestra of the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater. Along with pursuing his classical ambitions, he performs in numerous other musical groups.

Since 2005, Benjamin has been a member of Trio Fado. His musical productions include audio C.D.'s for children and adults (available through Patmos), musical recording for the Berlin Jewish Museum's audio guide, and Extravagante's debut album (with Daniel Pircher.) Benjamin is currently a temporary solo cellist with the Berlin Symphony.
